Lol, no worries....There was about 2/4 inch of fat on the brisket, and the bottom is a pork butt. Everything inside is quite tasty!
 
Doesn't look like you got much smoke ring on the brisket. That said it looks like everything was great particularly the pork.
 
You know, I wondered the same thing. I've done this 100 times, virtually no change in technique or materials, and there wasn't near as much smoke ring.. It didn't bother me too much though, since this was for home consumption.

I was using oak.
