Medicaid: Elderly Parents Question

New to this, but my Mom is in need of some medical/dental care and has been on Medicaid only a few months. She needs an oral surgeon per her dentist today. The closest ones to her are in Wichita Falls and none of the three accept Medicaid (seems unfair, but I'm sure there are good reasons).

Where can I find a listing of Medical Service Providers that take Medicaid in Texas? I have "fished around" the State of Texas website, but not having much luck.

For a lot of procedures and specialties, Medicaid barely pays enough to break even on billing overhead and malpractice costs. Not worth the time and effort for a lot of doctors to take it. If you offer to pay Medicare rates, that's a (somewhat) different story. Not great, but you shouldn't have problems finding providers. Unfortunately, the fact that they are under Medicaid now limits your choices. Socialized medicine done wrong.

Thanks mayberry. Looks like my Mom will have to travel over 200 miles for oral surgery. Nothing in Wichita Falls, Lubbock or Amarillo which are closest to her, so it will have to be in the DFW area.
