I think if the SEC!SEC!SEC! is perceived to be good at defense, it is because the vanilla, boring, predictable offenses.

I think the SEC mighty defense thing is a myth. They suck at offense.
The whole of the $EC is a myth built on promotion first by CBS and now ESPN. The bottom 7 of the league might could fight for the Mountain West title; the next 3-4 (depending on the year) could contend for the ACC or BigXII. The top 3-4 are the competitive team's.

Defining "competitive" as Top-5 or Top-10 is pretty harsh. And as of this moment, I'd say that UGA, Bama, and Tenn are better than anything the XII is throwing out there.

But I do believe their "bottom 3" (Vandy, Mizzou, Auburn) are worse than the worst team in the XII (WVU or ISU). At least this year.

Maybe. After yesterday, I dare to say we beat Bama if not for the fluke injury once again to the starting QB.

App State manhandled the Ags but then got schooled yesterday by Texas St?? Maybe there is a bit of a stretch on the greatness of the SEC. I will say the refs seem to let them play much more aggressively in Defense secondary and Offensive line than I see in other conferences. DBs can put their hands all over receivers and OLine can basically tackle the defenders.

Until recently it was 14 SEC teams vs 9 B12 teams. That is 50% more teams and greater chance of producing really good teams. It’s nothing more than statistics.

I almost puked yesterday when the student section started chanting SEC SEC. Dumb because OU is going too, and we are Texas.
Agreed, we do not need the stupid SEC worship. We need to start at that conference and just win baby and work this NIL game until the rules are inevitably changed.

I wonder how many bowl games the SEC should have to loose before everyone sees the truth, it’s bama, and a few good programs.
The rest are all “also rans” and scrubs.

Then when you consider how large the conference is, they should always have multiple teams in the top 25.

when bowl season comes around they always get exposed. I don’t buy any of this “we weren’t motivated” crap. (Although these sister-cousin ******* do have a hard time getting to up unless it’s within the family. )

Also I can’t believe our students did that chant. None of you who were there stepped in and kicked their skinny asses for it?

I posted total offense. Must be that bend don't break defense they have. :idk:
Difference of opinion, that's all. If they are so great at moving the ball but not scoring, who cares? And, if the defenses are so great, why let them move the ball but then tighten up?

Anyway, I, and probably most other non SEC fans, think it is all ESPN hype.
