McCoy vs. Tebow

The Boy Wonder has come to play this year. He led the team in passing, rushing, and even punt average last night. I also think he is the most underrated player in the nation, and I thought that before his amazing performance last night.

Compare his stats with Tebow's yesterday.

McCoy:
24-29 passing, 222 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INTs
12 rushes for 103 yds, 1 TD (8.6 YPC)
1 punt, 44 yards

Tebow:
9-14 passing, 137 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs
9 rushes for 37 yards (4.1 YPC)

The only area Tebow did better was yards per passing attempt. Colt more than doubled his yards per carry rushing.

Let the Heisman campaign begin.

Colt and Tebow are class acts, but Tebow is in a different league athletically. I would be shocked if Colt is a pro QB. I think he will end up being a great coach. I will be just as shocked if Tebow does not end up in the pros. I might be wrong, but that is my opinion. I think both of us are lucky to have the QB's we have, so I am not putting Colt down.

I think Tebow is going to change the way coaches call plays for some of their QB's. Now you can't just throw 3 TD's and have zero INT's to be considered a great QB. Now you have throw 3 TD's and run 2 or 3 short yardage basically QB type sneaks in as well. On the stat line it just impresses the hell out of everyone. Basically it is more a stat game than ever.

I'm as big of an SEC homer as there is and I'm telling you, Tebow is an *** clown that benefits from the system he plays in and his incredible supporting cast. In the near future he will be learning the intricacies of an Arena Football developmental league, something a hair beneath AF2.

I say that to point out, comparing Tebow and McCoy is lame, useless, and an exercise in ridiculous comparisons.

Lets see if McCoy can beat Arkansas, OU, Mizzou, Kansas, Tech, A&M, and get Texas out of the Alamo/Holiday Bowl rotation before he is fitted for a crown.

Tebow is not exactly what the pros are looking for. As a matter of fact, he does not run an offense that shows anything the NFL does. While a great college QB, that may be all he ever is. And there is nothing wrong with that. I would say Colt has just a good of a chance, if not better to be playing on Sunday.
