McCain's Arms?

Is there something wrong with McCain's arms?

When he makes a point it seems like he can't extend his arms or something...

It's a result of his plane being shot down and him being tortured while a P.O.W.

Yes. He was injured when he was shot down over North Vietnam. I'm sure the torture he endured exacerbated the problems.

You guys need to back off of Ryan. He didn't say anything bad. I will admit that I was nervous when reading the title though. No one would make fun of McCain for having physical problems considering what he has gone through.

I had a feeling that it might have been from his time as a POW...but wasn't sure.

You seem to know a bit about politics, religion and CNN, but nothing of McCain being a POW....

I knew he was a POW...just didn't know the correlation between that and his arms...that's all.

But thank you for your compliment.

I don't only watch CNN though, I switch around all news sources including foreign papers and even mix in a little faux news occasionally to get some laughter.

It's my understanding that the sustained arm issues stem from his captors not treating or resetting his arms.

I have never heard that any torture, other than lack of treatment, exacerbated the problem. But I don't know for sure and haven't looked into it.

He can't raise his arms above his shoulders. But he seems to have full mobility other than that. And he has no limp that I can see.

Despite political views, that man is a real war hero.

It's just mind boggling how McCain retained his sanity and even a sense of humor to this day given the hell he endured for 5 years. Who can question his mental toughness? The heart of a champion.

I believe McCain could have been released earlier by the N.Vietnamese because of the importance of his father in the Pentagon. McCain refused to be released out of order. Hell of a man.

i also believe a lot of the "Mancurian Candidate" bs was developed by fellow GOPs when he was threatening W's campaign. Nice.
