McCain thoughts

I think he ends up getting the Republican nomination...esp winning the take all Florida and getting Rudy's endorsement tomorrow when he drops out...in a ceremony at the Ronald Reagan Library no less

Romney is done IMO...esp with McCain and Huckabee basically going together against him

If Obama ends up getting the Dem nomination I think he would beat McCain in a general election

if its Hillary- I fully think McCain not only wins, but it may not be that close

Hypothetical numbers I've heard on how he would match up with Hillary have him fairing very well. I just don't think she with all her mess would have much of a chance to beat what he offers...esp his military background and the leadership he could provide (agree with his views or not)

Huckabee could end up being McCain's VP choice from what some speculate...which Im not sure about actually happening

I think McCain crushes Hillary Clinton, because she would reunite a currently very fragmented GOP. They may not be sure what they want, but they know what they don't want.

Hillary might not elect a Republican President but I'll bet she elects lots of Republican state legislators, county commisioners and district judges.

I think McCain will be the nominee.

The fact that a sh*t ton of democrats are ok with McCain, scares the hell out of me...

And did I just hear on CNN that McCain's two biggest political heroes were Goldwater & Reagan???

I still think McCain is a little too liberal in some respects for me, but if he gets the Republican nomination I will vote for him and support him.

Tahoe speaks the truth. One of my chief practical considerations in going all in for Obama at this point.

With McCain you get balance with the House and Senate.

A hardcore liberal with a full Dem Senate and House equals the nightmare that Bush presented.

Balance is needed.

The Florida primary was do or die for the field of GOP candidates whereas the Florida primary didn't matter to the Dem field due to the lack of delegates. Subsequently, the Dem candidates spent almost no money there and did virtually no campaigning there to speak of.

Yet Hillary had over 100,000 more votes for her than McCain in the Florida primary.

.

I'm not voting for McCain. If we are going down a liberal path I want an actual liberal to take us to hell in a hand basket so we can get the backlash and swing to actual conservatism.

McCain, being a fiscal conservative, is IMO what we need right now. Of course I'm in the financial industry so one would expect that..

Hillary Clinton is going to keep us in Iraq for the next million years or however long McCain decides to stay. She and Nancy don't have the nads to pull funding either, which is the really ironic part.

I think we have to start seriously looking at President McCain. i never thought there was a real chance of that but he is going to win the nomination and he matches up well with Obama & HC.

I would prefer a much more conservative candidate but McCain is not the end of the world. I am not sure how i feel about Romney either. Of course, i would support either over Obama or HC.

McCain, depending on his running mate could win the Presidency fairly easily because it is hard to polarize him.

People who really think the Republican base is going to sit this one out are living in a dream. There is no way they stay at home with HC on ballet. No chance.

Of course, if a legitimate third party candidate jumps in then who knows what will happen.

We will have to see how McCain stands up to a real 1-1 fight. I am not sure he has the temperament for a long campaign, with full national spotlight on him. The real possibility of a "Dean moment" exists.
