Mazatlan - August - Rainy season?

Anyone been to Mazatlan in August?

I found a good deal, but I am wondering if the deal is so good because the weather is so bad...

Are we talking daily monsoons that prevent you going outdoors... or are we talking the daily afternoon shower like it is in Florida all summer long..?
