Hey folks. We just released the May update of our Inside Texas 2011 Top 100. Our recruiting analyst Jeff Howe has spent the better part of May, and a good bit of March and April, traveling around the state of Texas scouting 2011 (and 2012-13) prospects and talking to and watching film with high school coaches, and this updated top 100 is the fruit of that labor. BTW, Texas has commits from three of the top four prospects, including new No. 1 Desmond Jackson, and 10 of the top 20. Here's the link, if you're interested:

Enjoy!

Thanks!

As I read it (and please correct me should I err), we are poised to bag the top four. Furthermore, our lowest ranked commit is #53.

Amazing how many top players have already committed.

There are only 7 players uncommitted from the top 30. A&M has only one of those players committed. Maybe Miller 58 has a point.

thank you, clendon. good looking list.

i believe we will earn mr brown's respect and then his pledge.

Outstanding. Thank you Clendon.

we are recruiting him. his offer was delayed due to grades, but he appears to have gotten things in order. he is a stud, and loves us. he'll make it to camp next month, and we'll see what happens. if he doesn't commit to us, it'll be ou.

on the flip side, josh turner may be the same type of situation (if not us, then ou). the question is, is there any way we could get both? my guess is no, given that we have scott (CB), evans (S), thompson (ATH, probable DB), and diggs (ATH, probable DB). then again, diggs could certainly play offense. we'll have immediate playing time for these guys.

Man Texas needs Malcolm Brown. This team is so stacked with talent and they are bringing in the biggest class of beef ever here. Just need a big time RB now.

Colt, I know it looks disproportional to take so many DBs in one year. But think about it. Out of all those guys, Scott is the only guaranteed corner. Evans and Thompson are definitely safeties and Diggs doesn't fit Muschamp's ideal size requirements (just an argument for why he might play somewhere else, not that he couldn't succeed at CB). Combine this with the fact that we'll probably lose our top 3 CBs from next season, and I have no problem with taking 3 guys this season.

i've got no problem with taking 6 guys that project at db. i'd be stoked to get turner and jackson. i'm just looking at the numbers, and still scratching my head. heck, we ran out of room for james vaughters, who was a legit possibility. the coaches are actively recruiting brown, green, ASJ, jackson, turner, rasco, and russell (though green and rasco seem like longshots). i guess we'll see..

I'm hoping we take a full 25 this year. I really want CB Turner from Oklahoma, TE Jenkins out of Washington, and of course Brown, Green and now Jackson, not because I know anything about him, but because CB is such a need position and our coaches are about to offer him.

As far as Vaughners thing goes, no way we stop recruiting a guy of his talent unless he wasn't as interested in Texas as he made himself out to be or they were asking for more than just a scholarship.
