National 1 or 2 seed seems most likely at this point which should mean a home regional with Texas State as the two and a super against a TCU.

How come the guys at Baseball America don't like us?

They make me sad.

If I recall correctly I think it is Baseball America who always picks a #1 that disagrees with the rest at some point in the year and sticks with it (if team is reasonably in the top 3) until they are unquestionably overtaken. And I'm sorry 20 in a row in a major conference team is overtaking someone with little question. Yes, they also tend to bother me when I see their unwillingness to do what is obvious and correct only to stand firm in their ways. Quite obvious they know it is controversial as they make sure to explain Texas is gaining. An attempt to throw a bone to reduce the friction without taking any action that matters.

The other possibility is that Baseball America is staffed by obstreperous scamps who don't grok the greatness that is Texas.

And oh: where is LSU?

In fairness to BA, they had Virginia #1 last week and they have won 10 in a row so I have no problem with #2. I'd prefer not to be the #1 national seed as we always do better in Omaha as the non-favorite.

NCBWA and Rivals now in...Texas #1 followed by Virginia. So in fairness to BA, they are the sole morons of the major polls who side with Virginia over Texas. Yes, they were ranked first last week by BA, and have a respectable 10-game streak. Is 10 games even comparable to a 20-win streak...not a chance. It's nothing overly abnormal to win 10 games str8. But 20 games and an April without a defeat, and doing this in a major conference? Kinda makes 10 wins look feabile. Texas is entering the area where they start to approach records, etc. Yes, there is a ways to go with all that, but eyes are turning that way.

With everyone else picking Texas across the board, and Texas continuing to pile onto the big streak...there is no excuse for BA to make a case we are not the most worthy of #1. Somebody has Longhorn envy or an axe to grind over there, no doubt. It doesn't matter much if we are #1 or #2 at this point in the year, from a big picture standpoint. But come on Man, it's ridiculous not to call it like it is and give proper credit.

The thing is, Virginia shouldn't have been ranked that highly by BA prior to this week. Most of the polls dropped Virginia and moved Texas above them when UVA went 2-2 a couple of weeks ago. BA was the only poll that kept UVA above us that week. The week after that, when Arizona State went 2-2, BA dropped them from #1 to #3, moving up UVA to #1 and us to #2.

We haven't lost a series since New Mexico on opening weekend and didn't lose any games at all in the entire month of April. Virginia lost a series to NC State in the month of April and lost a total of 5 games last month, and they continue to be ranked ahead of us. BA is the ONLY poll that has refused to acknowledge this. I think it's pretty clear that this is a regional bias issue on BA's part.

Can someone who has the expertise and the time check all of UVA's losses? See who they lost to and the RPI of each of those teams?

Well, I am no expert, but if I take off my orange glasses, one could argue that UVA should be considered for #1....I did say CONSIDERED!

In their 10-game win streak, they have swept 2 conference opponents on the road (Duke and Maryland) as well as a win at home over #5 Coastal Carolina. Furthermore, they have series wins vs. GA Tech (#7) & FL State (#8).

So, I would say there is at least a valid argument for UVA being #1.....just sayin'!

How DARE someone have a dissenting opinion, particularly when it doesn't place our beloved 'Horns at the top of a near-meaningless mid-season poll.

The audacity! The outrage! Clearly this denotes some sort of conspiracy or anti-UT bias on Baseball America's part.

the "horned toad" followers at the local watering hole are starting to talk **** ... sound like football season all over again.

My only point about BA is that their policy is not to jump one team over another if said team is winning. There's no doubt we should be top ranked across the board. Hopefully we'll meet VA. In the championship series in Omaha.

Chill out y'all. This is baseball; we have a championship tournament.

Really can't believe anyone gives a rat's *** where we stand in any particular poll at this point...
