Mavs pull a CU tonight

Down 22-3 - on a pace after 1st 6 minutes to lose 160-24...turn it around and outscore them 111-74 the rest of the way. Mavs continue to be hot and have very favorable schedule from here on out. Won't catch Spurs but should beat Lakers and Thunder for 2nd seed in West...and maybe better record than Celtics/Heat in East.

Go Mavs and,

Hook'em!!!

Can they be a #2 seed if they dont win their own conference?

The Spurs had a huge lead over the Mavs several weeks ago like double digits, that lead is down to 5, I can see the Mavs overtaking the Spurs before end of season.

If the Mavs continue on their current pace, the Spurs would have to lose more than they win the rest of the year to lose the division lead.

I do not like the Spurs without Tony Parker in their lineup, good luck to Spurs playing Heat twice, Lakers, at Houston, at Dallas, at Denver, at Portland and home to Boston and at Memphis again, almost all without Parker in the lineup. I am not sure who I would take in a 7 game series between Spurs and Mavs? The Mavs are playing better than the Spurs right now.

FYI, the Spurs never had a double digit game lead on the Mavs. They may have gotten to 8 game lead, but I think it was never more than 7-7.5. I doubt there would be any panic in San Antonio if they dropped to a #2 seed. I hope both Texas teams get and stay healthy. F the Lakers. A Spurs or Mavs in finals would ruin ESPiN's script. That would please me. And a Spurs-Mavs series this year would be epic.

In keeping with the OP - not to mention that belongs to me and I happen to apparently think in consistently strange ways like this - after the first 5 minutes at Portland and LaMarcus tonight, the Mavs are on pace to score 180. 7 of their first 7. Here's hoping for the first Perfect Game in NBA history.
