A top 10 recruiting class is something for aggy to be proud of. Except for the fact this class will not be on campus until 2010. The impressive feat will be when Sherman holds onto all this talent with a losing season.

Let's face it, there is no way in hell all the young talent supposedly coming to anm in 2010 will still be there when their season is over in November. Happens every year.

Good to see the kid stay in state but there will be some real *** kickings that these recruits will have to reconcile with. Texas football is the real deal, Sherm can only make promises that unless these kids are ready to start and produce as freshmen will never come true.

Very nice pickup, but let's face it, there are programs you go to because you want to contend for the title and there are programs you go to because there will be instant playing time.

There are programs you go to where you already have family on the team, and where the rest of your family would like to see you go, and where they can watch you play. I'd love to have seen the Horns have a viable shot at Mathews, but we've got plenty of line talent on hand, and I don't see anything to be gained by bagging on him for choosing his comfort team.

Bruce Matthews has a lot of respect for Mike Sherman. I doubt this is the first case where a kid follows where his parents want him to go (not to mention where his brother plays, and where he can get immediate playing time).

Good luck to the kid and his family. He stayed in state, gets to play close to his family and with his brother. He will get a solid education and play Texas, ou and other big name teams. His dad also knows the coach and his NFL pedigree. I hope he does well. Lighten up folks.

What is the further point of this thread? Remember when the Indians chased the buffalo off the cliffs? Matthews is now a buffalo or sheep or something. It's his life to make the best or worst of and he has made his decision to be part of the losers. Let it be!
