Well so much for that, we are done with OL for this year. Now we need to concentrate on the 2 LB's, the 2 WR's, Jeffcoat and our long odds with Seastrunk. Is it too early for 2010 yet?

I think if TAMU wins 6 games, Mathews will pick TAMU. If TAMU has another ****** season (quite likely), then it becomes a toss up.

Sherman needs to win 6 games to hold on to this class.

Bundy, in your opinion, is he on the hot seat without six games in the win column? I think even if he gets less he is good for one more year. If he gets to a bowl but then gets demolished it won't matter. Not that he would get beaten, just saying what if.

The key, to me, is get to a bowl game. Losing to Baylor won't help much.

i am okay with matthews to aggy. he is a great talent, and i'd rather see him stay in texas than go to usc. aggy will struggle for at least the next 2 years.

I am alright with him at aggy as well, if he is not coming here.

And I, too, grudgingly tip my cap to Sherman.

That is a pretty damn good class after 4-8 season.

Don't we already have the #1C and #1G in line this year?

No big surprise here. I never thought we had a significant chance of getting Matthews. I'd rather him stay in Texas and going to aTm than USC.

Offensive lineman Jake Matthews (Missouri City, Texas/Elkins) spoke with ESPN affiliate Web site WeAreSC.com about the current status of his recruitment.

"Definitely USC and A&M are the top two schools I'm looking at. I was thinking about committing to A&M if I didn't like USC that much (before a visit). When I look into it, I can't really say who would be my top school right now."

"I'd like to get it (my decision) over with before the end of the summer. I don't know really how it's going to go, I could decide in the middle of my senior year. I'll just get the feeling and that's when I'll know I want to commit."

The longer all these remaining 2010 target kids who are still uncommitted wait to commit, the better for us.

how the **** does it come down to aggy vs. USC?

How is that even a contest?

Sherman is safe no matter what, but everyone will be restless if he goes 0-5 in the B12 South again.

However, the recruiting has picked up and if a final few dominoes fall right, Sherman could have one helluva class.

We need to land Mathews and Shaun Lewis, while holding on to everyone else. We could use another 2 DBs, so it will be interesting to see who Sherman can land. Would love to steal one of the Baylor DBs (Stephenson or Dixon) away.

The OL class (with mathews) would be stellar. The LB class would be stellar (with nelson and lewis). Decent potential at DE. Decent potential at QB. I'm not sold on the kids from Louisiana (haven't seen enough film to make a judgement). We could use a homerun threat on offense (I like malena but he's not a HR hitter, neither is Nate Askew at WR). The Fobbs kid from La. is intriguing though.

Bundy, I love to bust aggy balls, but your insight and analysis is always a welcome addition to this board. Thanks for posting.

Why he would wanna play for such a loser program like Texas A&M is beyond me. Maybe he just wants to stay close to home. But then why not for the only real program in the state of Texas, the Horns?

I actually hope he signs with Aggie. Aggie is no threat to us the next several years but we may have ot play against USC in a NC game in the near future.

I'm with ya BigWil. It just don't make sense. SovietUnion, I agree with you as well.

Hmmm, was that a Fedex truck I saw leaving B/CS's aggyville just before Matthews interview?

I'm just sayin'...

That is just it.

We will beat the **** out of aggy for the next four years if they get Mathews or not.

He might actually make a difference at SC.

Plus, the next time a guy like this comes along, we only have to say "don't turn into the next Mathews"

They are making this too easy.

I never really thought he seriously considered us especially after landing Ashcroft and Walters and the studs waiting in the wings already on the roster.

But i too hope that he stays in state.
He has a chance to shine in CS and possibly get some NFL looks.
However, he would have a hard time getting into a starting position at USC. but if he does he would get NFL looks for that reason alone.

Even if Mathews legitimately had an interest in the Horns, and that's no certainty, there were too many things in the way.

He's gonna wind up in collie station, and that's okay. I don't intend to question his decision...that's an "aggy" thing to do, and besides, the Horns have enough line talent stashed away right now to easily counter his loss.

Mathews would have looked good in burnt orange, but good luck to him anyway, except when aggy plays us.
