MATT HILL, post disruptor - jhawk compliments

They are flogging that guy on the website though. Some of them are saying KU lost because of the tragedy of the week with the one players family.

I could buy that except you came out of the gate strong and were up 15 in front of a raucous home crowd at the Phog. Emotion doesnt wash. Failure to execute their offense is why they lost.
 
I'm glad Matt Hill got his own thread, because he really did play well. I guess his fouls were the "good cholesterol" fouls.
 
He played good hard nosed D. That last foul call on him was total garbage. He was moving his feet and had his hands straight up. All good teams need people like Matt who are willing to do the dirty work
 
Matt Hill's defensive presence was absolutely a factor in that game. I've watched it three times now, and Hill did a great job of bodying up his man and denying him good looks. Also, the few times Matt did get beat, he fouled hard and sent a so-so foul shooter to the line instead of giving up the easy bucket.

Best of all, yesterday's performance is the trend, not the exception--Matt's really been giving some solid minutes of late.
 
I've typically been vocal about not thinking much of Matt Hill's contribution (not on here necessarily), but it's becoming mroe and more obvious that he's doing what he needs to do. He does the little thing, sets the screen, contests the shot inside, forces the altered shots and generally disrupts. I still don't think he's the guy you want guarding someone a little away from the basket because he'll get taken to the hole, but right now I think he's really contributing a lot to this run.
 
Hill played a great game and was a major contributor to the win. Congrats to Matt and all of the Horns.
