Just how many times am I to support an employee’s maternity leave?

I have a sub-par employee that gets knocked up every year! I’m in the position to have to give her maternity leave for the third time in three years. Why should all the other employees have to cover her duties because of her promiscuity?

Just be glad you aren;t on wall street where women demand and get their full bonus payout even though they aren't here the whole 12 months.

Do you pay her while on leave? My understanding is that the Family Medical Leave Act only applies if you have 50 or more employees. Do you?

With less than 50 employees, I think you have to hold their job for them, but need not pay them.

You don't have to pay her anythng, only what she has in accrued leave regardless of the number of employees, he just has to hold her job for her for up to 12 weeks.

If you are in Texas, you don't have to pay her anything except her accrued vacation and sickdays. If you have group disability insurance, it usually kicks in after two weeks and gives them partial pay.

Hornin NYC, your firm must be one of those kind and gentle places to work. Two weeks before the last baby was due, her IT department shows up at the house and installs wireless internet and a firewall. They also install a new phone line that rang at our house when it rang at her office. She could log onto bloomberg and her office server and the nyc server. She did not have a very restfull maternity leave.
