how about that crazy assertion that the golfer cannot visualize a draw or a fade, so he just hits it straight. huh? what kind of bs is that? I think it's from Stenson.

What a wedge shot from the woods to get that
much hook and spin it too on the green.
As for Tiger and his behavior at Augusta forget any fine, that would have no effect, the only thing that would truly penalize him would be to suspend him from playing in some manner.
I don't know if that is possible by the rules of the game, the tour, or Augusta National Golf Club. The one thing that would truly get to him would be missing a Major due to suspension.
Beating Jack's record for Majors seems the only thing that matters to him. Of course television would have a fit, but it would seem the public could get behind a suspension after these continued displays of bad behavior.
Then again there are many who would say that this is what the sport needs more displays of passion in a staid and
stodgy sport. As for me I'll take the passion and emotion shown by Bubba Watson after that last putt than all of Tiger's
tantrums.
I wonder what Jack, Gary, and Arnie think of Wood's behavior and if any or all of them have ever thought of
having a stern talk with him?

that hook by Bubba has to be the best clutch shot at Augusta I've ever seen, except maybe either:
1. Jack's tee shot on 16 in the final round of the 1986 Master's. The only reason Jack's might be better is because his son/caddie was hopeful "be the right club", and Jack never looked at the ball, as he was picking up the tee he told his son, "it is".
Jack basically knew where the ball was going to land. He never looked at the ball, until after the ball came to rest.

2. Larry Mize's shot to win the playoff.
Even though Mize's shot was actually better, he didn't really plan for the ball to go in.
Both Jack and Bubba today planned for their shots to go where the shots ended up, it appears to me. Larry more or less, just aimed for a certain spot on the green, and got lucky. You could actually say the same thing about today's double-eagle. Oosty just picked a spot for the ball to enter the green, aimed for it, and got lucky the ball picked a path that took it straight to the cup.
To me, and I saw the near- double eagle at 13 live by whatshisname; those two shots are basically the same. the near double eagle at 13 came to rest about a foot short of the cup, but Oosty's kept going and did become a double eagle.
Comparing the three shots I've identified, all three essentially won the Master's for the man.
Two of the three were made in a playoff, but only one was made by someone who turned the clock back ten years.
Ironically, Ken Perry had the same shot Jack had a couple of years ago, completed the birdie, just like Jack, but couldn't finish the deal.
Ken would have then been the oldest person to win the Master's at age 48.
I guess the fact that Jack's shot was actually successfully repeated knocks his shot out of the running for best of all-time, and the final two would be today's and Larry Mize. I give the nod to Bubba's shot today, because of the technical difficulty of what he was trying to do. He probably exceeded his expectations, with that shot.

Tiger is not the only guy out there that throws a tantrum. You just see it because the camera is always on Tiger. I was at the PGA tourney in Tulsa a few years ago. One of the pros played a hole rather poorly and threw his club and hit his caddie. The caddie says.."I didn't make the six". Tommy Bolt buried his putter in the green all the way to the grip one time. It's only a big deal because it's Tiger. He's done it his entire career but all of a sudden it calls for a suspension??? I'm pretty sure Tiger apologized to the Master's folks.

Please - stop offering apologies/excuses for Tiger Woods. I know the sports media play into it, but golf will be a much better game/sport when we can hear about who won, and how, and less and less about where Tiger Woods came in.

I don't want special rules that apply only to Tiger. They should apply to anyone that does it. It should be spelled out though so every player will know not to do it.
It doesn't matter if we see it on television or not either. There are officials that walk all 18 holes with each group in a PGA event, so monitoring behavior should be no problem.
There should be no place for throwing or breaking clubs as mentioned above it can even cause injuries. There is also no reason for defacing the golf course in anger either. If replacing divots, fixing ball marks, and raking bunkers is part of the game. Then how can you allow intentional damage to the course.
The PGA needs to take some kind of stance on this. Pro tennis does and has penalties of points, games, and eventually being disqualified. Golf could do the same thing with stroke penalties all the way up to a DQ and yes even suspension.
This game or sport has always been about very strict rules, sportsmanship and or etiquette. If that is over then let the players and the general public know, if not then it's time for the PGA to do something to make sure that tradition lives on
still today.
