Those two guys in the 2nd half are the reason we won this game tonight. Period.

DJ did a nice job of distributing with his shot still not falling, but James and Mason's hustle, especially on the offensive glass was why we came back tonight.

Congrats boys, tonight you grew up!!

I thought their defense was pretty effin' intense, too. Everyone, actually, stepped it up on D in the second half. From beyond the arc to inside the paint, they had it locked down.

props to both, great game!

Not sure if this is covered in another thread... just got in from the game.

I kept asking all first half why Mason was not in the game. Turns out he had only 1 foul. Driving home on the radio the post game comments aid James had 12 pts and 13 rebounds in the 2nd half.

I'd give anything to know why Barnes had the lineup he had for the final 7 minutes or so of the first half. Why Mason was out for so long.

Great game. One of the all-time best I've attended in the Drum. Ranks right up there. In real time as opposed to tv, you can see the positioning and hustle of Mason and James, and they are so important to his lineup. I just don't understand the two of them not being main players on the court all the time unless spelled for rest or fouls or key defensive/offensive situations. Just perplexes the hell out of me.

I thought my head was gonna explode when James threw that dunk down (were there more than one?).

That backdoor pass and dunk by Connor was reminiscent of the UCLA/Tennessee affairs. It was awesome.

Hu, I think he was trying to play some of the guys that had played in previous games trying to save minutes/fouls for the regulars. Holly Rowe said Barnes told Chapman, Wagamene (sp?) and Pittman to prove why they need minutes. Chapman made one play of offense, but other two didn't and were back on the bench pretty quickly. First half is time to experiment, but he didn't stay with it very long.

Hook'em!!!

also I may be wrong about something (surprise!)... I thought the board at the game showed 1 foul for James early in the second half.

The box score now shows 3 total for the game and the writeup says he was in foul trouble. in the first half. I guess I just missed how that went in the first half trying to follow the game.

Oh, well, I do recognize the need for playing experience in the final 8 conference games before the NCAAs.

Franklin said Mason had 2 quick fouls early in the game. Of course I wouldn't know because of Georgetown/Villanova.

The two early fouls on James may have been a blessing in disguise. He had tons of energy to finish the game.

And more importantly, he made his FTs at the end of the game to keep Kansas from mounting a last second comeback. If James had played more minutes, he may not have made those FTs cuz his shooting there has been awful.
