Maryland at Texas, Part II

Watching the game on TexasSports.com. Rough start for Cole so far. He's given up a base hit and plunked a batter, and the next Terp bombed a pitch that just hooked foul.

Then Green falls behind 3-1 in the count, and the next pitch gets carried out for a 3-0 Maryland lead. Bases empty, no outs.

Cole strikes out the next two Terps and induces a groundout to third for the final out. Through a half-inning, it's Maryland 3, Texas 0.

I've got video as well. Not a good start to the game, but hopefully Green will settle down some and get some control.

Well, I'm confused.

Somehow doing what you said got me video, but it's really choppy. I tried reloading the page and lost the video. I then went through your link again, and regained the choppy video.

'Horns go down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the first. All three were groundouts but two of them were excellent defensive plays that robbed Texas of a single.

To the second we go with Maryland ahead, 3-0.

I'm using half-assed wifi. It's usually good enough for high quality feeds on espn3 though. I'll try relocating to see if I can find a hot spot.

Groundout, lineout and groundout for Maryland in the top of the second.

Bottom of the inning lies ahead with the 'Terps up, 3-0.

Weiss becomes the first Texas baserunner as he earns a walk after falling behind 0-2. One on, one out.

Phelps with a base rip to right. Weiss moves to second. McCallum's Kevin Lusson up to hit with one out.

Lusson with a fielder's choice gets Phelps out at second. Runners on the corners with two away. Tant Shepherd up.

Comebacker from Shepherd plates Weiss! Runners at first and second with Etier up to hit and two outs.

Etier gets caught looking for out No.3. In his defense, that pitch looked outside by a half-foot.

Maryland still leads but our 'Horns pull one back, 3-1. To the top of the third ...

Rodriguez with a leadoff single for the Terps.

Pitchout and a great throw from Lusson guns down Rodriguez at second. One away, 1-2 count to Wacker.

Payton can't run down Wacker's fly ball to left center, which falls for a stand-up double.

Green pitches around Delp and walks him on four straight pitches. Two on, one out, and the Longhorns are lookin' for the double play.

Swinging strike three on a wild pitch notches the second out of the inning but allows the Terrapin baserunners to advance to third and second.

4-3 groundout gets Green out of a jam and Texas out the inning.

On to the bottom of the third. Texas trails, 3-1.

Big at bat here, need to keep them off the board this inning and not fall any further behind. Come on Cole.

Green gets into immediate trouble by yielding a first-pitch infield single, a first-pitch liner, and a first-pitch beanball. Bases loaded, no outs for the 'Horns in the top of the fifth.

Loy boots a double-play ball, which ricochets into the outfield and allows two runs to score. Terps plate two and chase Green from the game. Score is 5-1, Maryland.

A double to left scores another, Loy bobbles the relay, and the ensuing play at the plate was in time but the idiot umpire saw it differently (as he has all game) and calls the runner safe. Score is 7-1 now.

Maryland is legitimately kicking our ***, but this umpire is a joke. His strike zone has been all over the place, he just made a brutally incompetent call, and he's tossed Harmon and Augie.

Another base hit, some more sloppy defensive play and Maryland pushes another run across. Score is now 8-1 in the top of the fifth with no outs.

I think I'm going to hold off on updates unless the momentum takes a big swing in our direction. Yuck.

Thank goodness this is just one game, and a seven inning one at that.

Geez I leave for an hour and the baseball and basketball teams start tanking it, come on guys wake up.
