If you want help from people from SA I suggest starting off by not offending them

second, can you offer some idea of what you are looking for or should we just guess?

There is a ton of good stuff to do in SA and tons of good places to eat

do some research...its not the best city around but it hardly sucks.

My suggestion would be to move back to where you moved from or are you not qualified for a job there?

I love San Antonio, but I can see how some may not like it. I've never had a reason to buy grape leaves.

sorry, my intent was not to offend. from the folks I've talked to and met here it seems that SA laothing, actually to put it more accuately, APATHY, is the consensus.

I live in the south central part (south, but inside 410). Yes, I know this is suburbia-city; there's the Quarry/AlamoHeights, and the rest of modern civilization is out north on 1604.

Again, what are you looking for? How old are you? Looking simply for bar recs or things to do during the day?

Apparently the apathy is contagious

I would never live in San Antonio if I was single then again I wouldn't live in Texas if I didn't have a kid either. No doubt San Antonio is a family city and definitely more laid back. Nightlife is odd, dive bars rule but at least we a avoid a good amount of the doucheness that you get in Houston, Dallas, and Austin. Although that is changing some up in the stone oak area.

Some pretty good high end restaurants here if thats your thing as well as some institutions. (Taco taco, Chris Madrids.)

Tons of history with the missions. Decent museums.

San Antonio proper goes well into the hill country. Your about 30-50 mins from either Medina or Canyon lakes. NB and the river are 35 mins. The Frio is an hour west. 2.5 hours from the beach. Tons of golf courses. Good cycling community. Fredricksburg is an hour away.

Some of the worst drivers you'll ever experience but an excellent medical community and if you are ever badly burned you'll be glad you live here.

Neither your initial post nor your follow-up post provide any information whereby anyone could help you.

It is impossible for anyone here to give you any meaningful advice based on your posts.

But what the hell, I'll try.

Go to a local bike shop, buy an entry-level road bike and ask about local riding groups/rides on the weekends. There are some outstanding world class hill-country cycling opportunities within an hour from San Antonio.

There. Now quit your whining.
