That looks a lot like my brother's dog, Phantom. My brother and I took Phantom to the Strand one day last month because I wanted to see the sights -- I'd never really been to Galveston. Turned out, WE were the sights! We couldn't go 10 feet without people stopping us to ask about Phantom and to pet him. Gentle dog who loves people. People took tons of pictures and that dog actually posed for every one of them!
I've been around several Danes and I can attest to their loving and gentle nature. It's hard to believe that they are considered a dangerous breed in some countries.
Danes are sweet dogs. I've heard from Dane owners that the worst thing about them is that, because of their size, their lifespan averages only about 8 years.
I worked for a vet in high school, and she raised danes, and was always bringing them to the office. They were absolutely the most calm, sweet-temptered dogs. Good thing about them is that they didn't jump up on you, they'd just trot up to you and stick their nose up to your face.
