Do you oppose them? many fishermen and angler'sorganizations do. However, they have been shown to be effective. As an example see:

The example above is for an MPA off the UK, but they have been quietly suggested in the western Gulf of Mexico. Fishermen have recoiled in horror. Is it time to overcome this bias and use a tool that is effective in managing both commercial and recreational fisheries?

yeah, no ****.

it seems, and i could be wrong, but it SEEMS to me that fishermen are not like hunters. hunters hunt in season and there are limits. i know fishermen operate much the same way, but their living depends on their haul, whereas most hunters' winter freezers depend on their haul.

however, if fish don't have safe places to grow and spawn and all that fun stuff, don't it seem that they are gonna disappear?
