Why the media isn't making more of a big deal about this guy, I'll never know. Has the Statesman run anything about him?

Hook 'Em Leo! I'll be interested to watch the replay to see how many runners he outkicked. That guy is a seriously strong finisher.

Awesome! But his pre-race ritual is one of the strangest/grossest I have ever seen.

NBC is too busy showing another of the billion hours of gymnastics to show a race that lasts more than a minute. grrrr.

Example of what hard work on top of hard work on top of a desire to win will accomplish.

After the last turn, Leo was sixth. His kick was amazing -- he blew past the fifth, fourth, third and second runners almost like they were standing still!

Incredible race. Leo was in tenth place at the start of the last lap. Lazy *** announcers didn't even notice him tearing up on the outside until he was passing the last couple of guys. They must have borrowed them from a college football telecast.

Congratulations, Leo!!!

Did no one notice that the Algerian that beat him was the guy who was disqualified prior to the race for "throwing the 800" but then appealed and was reinstated. NBC sucks for not only not giving Leo more love in what is considered one of the premier races in all of track and field but to also consider what could have been. A silver though is HUGE!!!!!

Leo! Leo! Leo!

I found myself somewhat annoyed by NBS's overall coverage of the distance track events. They opt to not show the 1500m finals until 11pm and did not even show a post-race interview with Leo afterwards. I thought Rupp's silver in the 10000 was bigger than the coverage it got. The US has not won a medal in either of these events in over 40 years, and both Rupp, Leo, (& Centrowitz) beat every kenyan and ethiopian in their races.

I would also much rather have seen the semifinals in the men's 800 than another hour of beach volleyball.

As popular as 5k, 10k, marathon running is here it seems like this would warrant more coverage.

Congrats Leo!!! I don't pretend to know running but this doesn't seem to be the US's traditional forte so I wasn't expecting much. Clearly to medal, Leo must be a special athlete. way to go!

I see where Leo is under fire for carrying both a US and Mexican flag on hie celebration lap. Screw the haters, he was acknowledging his heritage and more power to him, I swear some people are only happy if they are angry about something.
