Mantracker?

I fnd myself watching every once in a while. I like the concept, but can't help feeling that it's rigged somewhat. Partly because a cameraman (or two) accompanies the trackees and I would find it hard to believe that they wouldn't compromise locations sometimes. Once I get past that, I'm actually very entertained by the show. Its funny how they try to cover their tracks but Mantracker seems to tell by analysis what's real and what's not. Good stuff.
 
That's the same reason I never could get into Man vs Wild or whatever. He had freaking cameramen with him. If that cameraman isn't dying, then how hard could it really be out there. Survivorman was much better.
 
I was watching last night. I've seen about two episodes so far. I do like it but, some observations:

1. Horses are far more delicate than I thought.
2. It is easy to evade a tracker on horse when seen.
3. Never start out jogging when your destination is 20 km away.
4. If it is butt chilling cold at night, get up and continue hiking while Mantracker gets his three hours.
5. Pack mole skin.

It would be alot cooler if they used army or recon units using paint guns in instead of ex college football buddies still living together or wussie PhD types with psychology degrees and kanook speaking cowboys with sidekicks. I keep expecting Mantracker's sidekick to bust out in a Riders in the Sky routine or rendition of Northern Ukon Stars, Doug. "...Mantracker, you know charging up that ridge to get our prey might be the easy way, but it wouldn't be the cowboy way."

Still, theres nothing else better on the kids can watch also. And I never get tired of listening to Riders in the Sky talk about McGoulton Tennessee and the Slug Salting song, State Fair Burn Out, Slingin lead lined hockey pucks or Shirley McLain's coffee creamer.
