Okay it is a stupid nickname.

Guy has:
2268 hits
500 HR's
1639 RBI's
1375 Runs
.312 lifetime BA
.408 lifetime OBP
2 World Series titles

Just turned 36 and has 15 years under his belt. I would say he is a shoe-in for HOF. Where do you think his #'s will end up? and What will is his place currently historically and what will it be long-term if he plays 4-5 more decently productive years?

I am sure one will point out that he played during the steroid era. But like A-rod I currently give him a pass until we hear anything about either of these 2 guys. Same with Griffey.

From today's Statesman,
"The drive made Ramirez only the SEVENTH player in baseball history with 500 home runs, 1,500 RBI's, 1,000 walks, 475 doubles, and a .300 batting average. The others are Henry Aaron, Willie Mays, Mel Ott, Babe Ruth, Frank Thomas and Ted Williams."

I'd say he's in pretty good company even if he decided to hang up his cleats today.

Too bad he lacks what those guys had, some in spades...class.
