We didn't ditch him. We fired Mack.

I’ll never forget that game against the Mormons when Mack and Akina were screaming at each other on the sidelines. Akina gestured at Diaz like why don’t you scream at this ******* instead? Diaz just stood there looking like his brain was broken though so Mack and Akina both just seemed to shrugged and walked off.

The writing was already on the wall with Diaz the year before and he never should have been brought back. Even though the Belmont parrots on the board at that time like Texas Taps and Campus Loop were spinning the Robinson hire as 'just a consultant' everyone knew why he was really here. The funny thing to me about the firing of Diaz is Mack had Robinson review the game film and after the firing Mack stated, "There were no defensive adjustments made.". Anyone who watched the game could have told Mack that.
