Man gets 2.6m for Pizza.com domain name

I'm no expert, but I do recall hearing something about cybersquatting laws that stop these things from happening.

Well... considering back in 1994 domain names were $50 / year... I think $2.6m is a pretty good return on his investment of about $700..

Cybersquatting is when you register a domain that you intend to profit from based on a trademark owned by someone else.

The word pizza is not trademarked. If he had bought pizzahut.com then that would be cybersquatting.

Sometimes I jump in and finish MilkmanDan's thoughts. He usually has a self-imposed once sentence limit on his posts.
