Saw Tootsie over the weekend. Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange, Geena Davis, Bill Murray, Charles Durning, Sidney Pollack. I laughed my *** off again as it had been many years since I have seen it. Some say it is a chick flick. I liked it anyway.

Today's cultural institutions have diluted modern masculinity beyond anything Gable, Stewart, Bogart, Grant, Tracy, Cooper, Astaire, Kelly, and Newman would recognize. So your "Man Card" is probably still acceptable.

You must, however, immediately report to the nearest DPS branch and surrender your Texas Driver's License.

I saw it in the theaters when I was a kid and almost fell out of my chair laughing.
It's a funny movie - if it hadn't been situated around a soap opera I don't think anyone would throw down the man card challenge.

Not sure what the man card has to do with it. Tootsie is a modern classic -- one of the best comedies ever made. And I definitely wouldn't call it a chick flick..

It received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture in 1982 -- rare for comedies -- and would have won had it not been for Ghandi (still should have, IMO).

I went to "He just not that into you" with her this weekend. I got my card back by making her watch the Budweiser Shootout with me later that night.

I thought there was a previous thread some long and distant time ago about Dustin Hoffman movies being for girly men.
