There has been only 1 time in my 42 yrs that I was literally unable to sleep. Not before any job interviews, not before my wedding, not before any of my kids' births, not while being laid off, not after my parents got divorced, not when my Dad was in ICU. It was when I was choosing which university to attend. I'll never forget that. And I'll never slam a kid on his college choice. Because it's one of the biggest decisions of a persons young life.
Man, the more i read about DK the more i like this guy. Even if he were just a 3 star recruit, i think every team would be thrilled to have him. OK, so now he's a Trojan. I'll still pull for him every time he takes the field.
Kennard is one of my favorite kids that we didn't get. He handled this whole thing with class. I wish him the best at USC. I hate missing out on top notch prospects, but this left none of the sour taste the Mcfarlund recruitment did. Good luck to him.
I respect every kids decision on what school to attend, so good luck to him. I would have just loved to seen such an awesome defensive class come in, adding McFarland, Kennard, and Kirkpatrick. What a great Jr/Sr rotation that would have been! Maybe that is the problem now; many of these 5-stars expect to play asap. With the internet, and these recruiting sites, they have more leverage than they did 20 years ago. Back then, you had no idea who else the school had offered, or how "high" a prospect you were. I am very happy who we have, just a little dissapointed we never seem to land a high-profile 5-star toward the end of the recruiting season.
