mailbox replacement

Probably a really dumb question, but...
How does one go about replacing a mailbox that is in a brick enclosure?
Somehow the door and some of the actual body on mine got mangled while I was out of town, and now must be replaced.
Thank God the bricks weren't demolished.
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

inside of mailbox likely has screws/pins holding it in place. Remove those, then slide it out. If necessary, use a hammer.

Big masonry mailboxes are one of my pet peeves. I call them monuments to the Post Office. Why draw attention to something so utterly functional in your front yard? Knock it down and replace it with something simple and obscure.

It appears brntorng does not live in an area where local teenagers practice the time honored tradition of late night mail box flattening via heat seeking laser guided pick-up trucks.
