Magnolia Cafe

my perception of Magnolia vs. Kerbey Lane is that Magnolia is a bit hipper, a little more edgy that Kerbey Lane. Kerbey Lane for graduation day, Magnolia for 3 in the morning. Similar menus -- great breakfasts for both.Another alternative in north/central Austin is the Omlettry on Burnet Road @ 51st St. Magnolia on Lake Austin used to be the Omlettry West. The original Omlettry serves really simple food -- again, kind of like Magnolia and Kerbey Lane -- but is more of a greasy spoon. NOT open 24 hours, but a really good alternative to Kerbey & Magnolia for those times that you can't wait an hour for a table.Austintatious

I had my first late night dinner there back when the regionals were in Austin.2 whole wheat breakfast tacos and a stack of pancakes stuffed my gizzard.I thought the place was great, tons of character.

One of my favorite places in Austin. You might have to wait 20 minutes for a table, but nothing beats the atmosphere, the service and the food.

I've never been disappointed by the food at the Mag. If you get the chance try the "Mag Mud." It's a dip filled with pico de gallo, guacamole, queso and black beans. Mix it all together and you've got Mag Mud. Best appetizer in Austin.
