Okay, so I rented and have just watched the first season of Mad Men.

I like the show but there are several things that are just pretty hokey to me

1) Campbell finds out that Don Draper is NOT the man who originally was Don Draper. He tells Cooper, and Cooper's reaction was just completely not believable to me at all. Not only that, but why didn't he reveal that information to everybody else in the office? We're supposed to believe that he can't stand Draper and that he's a snake in the grass, yet he doesn't reveal this information to the office or to Draper's wife etc...?

2) Peggy was pregnant for NINE MONTHS and we're supposed to believe that she didn't even know it? How is that possible? Didn't she think that maybe something was up when she started missing her periods and started gaining weight? I'm sorry, but I just can't accept that as plausible.

Like the show's style, though.

1) Pete Campbell weasled his knowledge of Draper by opening his private mail. Cooper is borderline senile, yet loyal enough to his partners that he dismisses and rebukes Campbell's allegations completely. Pete is intimitaded by Don's influence within the office, and backs off, realizing that he would have littlle credibility, and ultimately lose.

2) Deus ex machina
