Mack Wins Again

After long drive (9 play 75 yards) that included passing for a first down on fourth and 17, North Carolina scores on TD pass to take one point lead on Miami with 1:01 to go, and then got 2 point conversion. So, Miami has a minute (and all its time outs) to try to tie or win.

Mack Brown is doing very well and has already tied last season's win total! (Meanwhile, Charlie Strong lost his 8th game in a row today.) Mack's problem is that someone at UNC did not care about wins and losses when putting their schedule together.

UNC's 2019 Schedule:
South Carolina 1-1 W Down goes Muschamp

Miami 0-2 W Down goes Diaz and Mack gets the sweep over the two people that cost him the Texas job (Muschamp intentionally, Diaz unintentionally)

@Wake Forest (2-0) A non-conference game for some reason. Going to be a tossup.

Appalachian State (2-0) Always dangerous and App State is coming off of a bye week. Should be a win for UNC, but will be another tough out sandwiched between Wake Forest and Clemson.

Clemson (2-0) If Mack Brown is able to make it to 4-0, he may get Gameday. Unfortunately, I do not think Mack (or anyone really) can coach up what UNC currently has to beat Clemson. UNC is probably blown out (See Texas v. K-State or UCLA in 1998.) Clemson does get upset now and then, so if they have a really bad game, who knows?

@Georgia Tech (1-1) One of the two potentially "easy" games on UNC's schedule. Only problems are it is on the road and comes following a brutal stretch without a bye week or easy opponent. I except UNC to be beat up after facing Clemson as well. UNC should still win, but may be closer than it should be. On the other hand, Georgia Tech was annihilated by Clemson and struggled to beat Charlie Strong 14-10.

BYE

@Virginia Tech (1-1) Virginia Tech has not looked great this year. I really thought Fuente would do better. I like Mack Brown coming off the bye week in this game unless the hokies vastly improve.

Duke (1-1) At this moment this appears to be a tossup rivalry game, but we need more information on Duke.

Virginia (2-0) Should be a loss. Virginia appears to be the second best team in the ACC this year. UNC does get them at home.

@Pittsburgh (1-1) Tossup game and on the road, but I like Mack Brown coming off the bye week.

Mercer (2-0) North Carolina finally gets its easy win... in the second to last game of the year.

@ NC State (2-0) Another tough game. Too early to call this game either way, but I think NC State is the favorite right now.

Right now, the only potentially "easy" wins on the schedule are Georgia Tech and Mercer. UNC is still in doubt to make a bowl game. I really do not understand what whoever made this schedule was thinking. It will be very impressive if UNC finishes with 7 or more wins against this schedule given where they are coming off of back-to-back 9 loss seasons.
