For some reason the punting situation really stuck out to me. Trevor Gerland, if he wants to be a factor, needs a better average than the 37.1 he had last year (1 inside 20). Justin Moore was pretty good averaging 41 with 12 inside the 20.

The punting as well as kickoff coverage will be a huge factor I believe this year. We can't afford mishaps like the Kansas State game last year.

I think our special teams, at least the coverage and return units should be much improved thanks to Akina returning to run things.

Interesting that Mack and Co have been preparing for FAU since Monday vs. the usual 1 week game week preparation. He seems to b a little worried about their QB and our secondary.
