Mack Brown talking to Meyer...violation

On the Under Armor practice show on Wed, it showed an interview with RB Mack Brown who said he talked to Urban Meyer on Monday morning about his coaching issue....

Isn't this a dead period where coaches can't talk to players.... so wouldn't this be a NCAA violation?

Institutional staff members may have contact with a prospective student-athlete who has been admitted for mid-year enrollment, provided the prospect has signed a National Letter of Intent or other offer of admission and/or financial aid to attend the institution and is required to be on campus to attend institutional orientation sessions for all students.

Now I understand. Somehow I didn't see the RB in front of Mack Brown in the OP. So, would this be a violation? Seems that it would be.

NCAA would overlook anything associated with Meyer or Teebus.

Well, they would not want to stress Meyer out to any extent.

I've done some reading.

During the dead period coaches aren't allowed to have any in person communications. They are allowed one phone call made to the player per week and the players can call the coaches as much as they want.
