Machete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Machete-----------------this film is based on the fake trailer featured before Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse and Planet Terror movie double feature, When I saw this I laughed out loud at how outrageous the premise was and the over-acting. Then when I heard it would be a feature length film I thought---cool the first mainstream NC-17 movie in a while. Well they cut it to an R rating but this just has to be a tough-in-cheek joke of a movie since the Blacksploitation" movies of the 70s. Who.hell.would.pay.good.money.to.see.this.joke.of.a.film??????????

Austin Film Society is hosting the Premiere party tonight with a lot of those actors in attendance. I asked about Lindsey and was told that she was told not to come; probably wouldn't be allowed out of Cali anyway.

Looks awful. I guess hipsters and all the other film maker wannabes will praise it, but its garbage to me. Rodriguez, what happened to you? You get worse by the movie

Films like this is why Al Gore - in cahoots with some anonymous person - invented cable TV.

Cahoots = cool word of the day.

looks like a fun flick. glad to see Danny Trejo - a good character actor in his own right (From Dusk Til Dawn", Heat, Once Upon a Time In Mexico) - get a lead role.

it's refreshing to have some filming return to Austin.

There are movies that are so bad that they're good (Think Vin Diesel/Christian Slater movies); then there are movies that are so bad that they think they might be good, so they try to be extra bad, and suck even worse (Think Snakes on a Plane).

I'm neither a hipster nor a film maker wannabe, just a goofy engineer, but I plan to see it because it looks like it could be entertaining. That's why I go to see movies, to be entertained.

I don't know whether or not I will "praise" it. Couldn't tell you that until after I see it.

I saw it. If there were such a thing as the Man-Oscar Awards, it would win everything.

Haven't seen it but it got 73% on Rotten Tomatoes which is roughly double Eat, Pray, Love and some of the other garbage my wife is interested in. Can't be that bad otherwise with such an overt premise the critics would have murdered it in the reviews.

Gecko you are right concerning Rodriguez I forgot what a racist he is....after reading about some of the scenes I think I will wait until it comes on HBO so I won't be subsidizing this racist. He seems to be the Mexican version of the KKK----lying and bending the truth for his race's benefit

I hope Texas Film Commission pulls their pledges because I guarantee you he didn't present these scenes when he applied for the tax incentives.

Heh! My wife has been begging me to go see it ever since she heard it was actually being made. We laughed our arses off at the fake trailer during the Grindhouse movies.

One thing's for sure, this one is perfect for the Alamo Drafthouse.

Yes, that's what I'm thinking. But how can I convince Ms. Accurate this will be quality entertainment for her? I don't see too much chick flick angle.

OMG, trusting prison planet is beyond stupid.

The movie pays tribute to the exploitation films of the 70s. Over the top violence, sex, etc. The message isn't meant to be taken seriously.

Every Mexican gets portrayed as a Gardner or taco salesman in the movie save for alba and she's considered a sell out. The movie is a joke. It is entertaining....don't take it to mean more.

I loved it....thought it was a great movie that poked fun at all sides. Seagal was hilarious.

Jumanji, if you dont think people are influenced by movies, you need to reconsider. Pop culture is pop culture for a reason. Grown men wear tight cut off jean shorts, t-shirts that are 6 sizes too small and grow bears Osama bin laden would be proud of. Why? Because its trendy. People smoke. Why? Because its trendy. Every freaking movie has stars smoking in them to boot.

Movies do influence people, even when they are over the top corn as this one seems to be.

Actually there are a lot of people for illegal immigration. They dont think it should be illegal. We should let anyone who wants to come here, come. That seems to be the case anyway.

Outrageously outrageous. Just saw this flick and was laughing my *** off most of the time at the stupid crazy violence and disbelief this flick provided. Also glad I didnt pay full price for it at a theater.
