I’m waiting a little while to run the upgrade just in case there are any application incompatibilities or serious issues with Lion, but perusing the various blogs so far I haven’t heard of any major problems.
Anyone upgraded yet and have some thoughts about it?
I upgraded on Sunday. I did not have any major problems although it took a really long time to start up the first time after installing. I like the swipe features for navigating and the Launchpad. I otherwise have not really explored it much and it seems pretty similar to Snow Leopard. I have only had my MacBook Pro for maybe two months so I am pretty new to the operating system anyway.
I like it but I have found myself really missing some of the old features like expose and spaces. also I miss the three finger up swipe or down swipe to go to the top/bottom of a long webpage/document.
I'm sure it will just take some time to adapt to the new stuff.
I do not notice any delays once everything is loaded. It appears to work seemlessly.
My MacBook does seem to take far longer to boot from when it is completely shut down than it did before I upgraded and turned on the encryption . It went from loading in about 20 seconds to taking maybe a minute. I am not sure if this is ESET, Lion, or encryption related. It might be a combination. I am an old Windows user so I frequently completely shut down my Mac even when I should just close and reopen the lid.
I rarely shut down my MacBook Pro - maybe once every few weeks or when prompted to do so by a new software installation. You don’t really need to. Thanks for the feedback.
