I have a dell cpx laptop and i am trying to install a 10/100 card in it but the driver disk is a floppy and my laptop does not have a floppy. But i do have a mac external floppy drive that connects with a usb port, so can i use that floppy drive for the dell laptop? Please help.

No, there won't be any drivers for it. Do you have another way of getting on the internet, dial-up, or another pcmcia card? You can get the drivers from the manufacturer's website. If not, you're going to have to use another computer to burn it on a cd. Or just get a floppy drive.

well actually i got off of my lazy butt to find it and try it (I know, I know) and it did work. Win 2K found it and it worked like a charm. Now i have a new problem. I hooked up this 10/100 card and downloaded the drivers but i still cant get it to find the internet. I have played with everything and still nothing. My modem realizes that it is hooked up to a pc and the laptop realizes that it has a connection but how do i get the sob to open a page? Any possible answers? My wireless card works fine btw.

try the connection wizard.

in IE, tools->internet options->connections->setup

that might help u get on.

nope i am stupid. The modem was just locked to my desktop, so i unplugged the modem and voila, it works. Now i just have to get my wireless router.
