Luxor Hotel in Vegas

I am booked for two nights in February. I have walked through a couple of times and thought it was a nice enough place, but the reviews are mixed. Anyone stayed there recently and have I made a mistake? Thanks in advance.

I have stayed there. It's fine. the rooms in the tower are newer, but the rooms in the pyramid are fine and you get to ride the "inclinators" which is cool when you have a good buzz on.

You aren't getting super luxury, but there is nothing wrong with the rooms and usually it's good value. It's cool to be a quick walk / tram ride from the Mandalay sports bar.

I stayed there the last time I went about a year and a half ago. We stayed in the tower. The rooms were very nice BUT it took FOREVER to get to the room from the casino floor. If I stayed there again, I would definitely stay in the main pyramid. But I am not staying there again; I want to get out of the elevator and be right there not then to have to walk 10 minutes.

I am actually going next weekend. Staying at Mandalay Bay with a friend's comp. If not, I would stay at Flamingo. Great location and not as expensive. Hell we end up normally bouncing around from casino to casino so location is important. And when I get to the room, I crash hard. I could be sleeping on a cot for all I know.

stayed there a year ago. LIke everyone else says, rooms are ok and you should stay in the pyramid. To me, the casino is one of the quieter ones that i was in. Never really got too rowdy and doesn't have all the activity going on around it. At times, I was like "this casino is lame", but because i was staying there, i did the majority of my gambling there. I think there are better poker rooms, but poker is poker and you won't get rounders at Luxor. The casino actually feels smaller than it actually is.
Prolly the worst part of Luxor is that it is all the way at the South end of the strip and its quite a ways to other casinos like Bellagio and Caesars.
