Couldn't have happened to a better fan base

This happened in the 8th inning of a game that was tied 3-3. LSU went on to lose 4-3.

Funny as this is because of who it happened to, it would've been incredibly difficult for me not to personally kick that guy's ***.

No, that's just a normal fan reaction. To be Bartman, it would've had to have been in the bracket play of the CWS leading to the LSU getting eliminated from the tournie. You watch any game, at least 90% of fans do the exact same thing.

That is not normal fan reaction. Normal fan reaction would be to wait for the ball to clear the wall. I've seen tons of outfielders make catches at the top of the wall because most fans aren't dumb enough to pull that BS. This guy reached out into the field of play and interfered with the fielder's ability to make a catch. That doesn't happen with "90% of fans."

a) the fan should have been aware the fielder had a shot at catching the ball and backed away.
b) it would not have been a catch had the fielder caught it in his glove, because he landed in the stands. You have to bring the ball down in the field of play, as I understand the rules. You can reach over the wall or fence, but you have to bring it down in the field of play. If your body lands in the stands, it is a home run or foul ball, even if the fielder makes the catch.
