Brady, the 2006 SEC coach of the year, coached the Tigers to an SEC regular season championship and a Final Four appearance in the 2005-06 season. This season, the Tigers are 8-13 and are in last place in the SEC West, with a 1-6 SEC record. They have lost nine of their past 10 games. Butch Pierre, one of his assistant coaches, will take over for the remainder of the season. LSU will officially announce his dismissal at a press conference at 1:00 p.m. CST today.

im surprised it took this long, he's awful; I still can't believe a team coached by him beat us in the tourney; granted, lamarcus going 2-23 might have contributed to that.

In both cases, Brady was embarrassed in the next round.

Barnes has had some bad luck in drawing LSU, in terms of direct comparisons to Brady. However, I think they would have handled them in 2003, if the Tigers had just gotten past Purdue.

And last year's game... Brady had no excuse losing that one. That was the day I realized that the four freshmen were going to do quite well.

I was in New Orleans yesterday and can tell you without a doubt that no one there cared. And that's why Brady is gone.
