how do you go about calling the company and asking for this? i've got good credit, always pay on time, pay a lil over the minimum due, and i've had the cards for a long time.

i've even heard if you complain they'll cut your bill by a fraction..(more than just the intrerest that had accumulated)

all at the same time i dont' want it screwing up my credit.

Just call and ask them to lower it. Then if they don't, tell them you will transfer your balance to a lower interest credit card.

to anyone in my situation who doesn't know too much about how it all works....

called bank of america. they can't do anything until next month because i'm paying my last month special of the 0% no interest until july '08.

called citi and they put me through to a manger who said he would continue the 0% through next year. he even adjusted my last bill (because the 0% thru june 08 had ended and went up to 8.9%) by $74 and credited to my account. then he told me to call back next year and we'll do it all over again.

that was awesome and a lot easier than i thought.

i've always just transferred balances to another card that was offering the special, but at the same time i would incur that 3-5% transfer fee. now i know to just call the company and get it extended due to good credit.

******* awesome!

thanks for the help!
