1st round of 2014 NFL Draft had THREE drafted from Louisville, including Bridgewater. Anybody know if these were all 5 or 4 Star recruits coming out high school?

Bridgewater was a highly regarded 4 star player.
Pryor was a highly regarded 3 star player (5th highest rated Louisville recruit in 2011, the class that included Bridgewater.)
Smith was also a three star player in 2010, the class Charlie recruited after he was hired in December 2009. Looking at the classes on ESPN, it's interesting that Charlie's first class at Louisvillel had 10 players rated 2 stars or unrated. By his second year, only three were 2 star and one unrated.

By the way Gerod Holiman, 2014 Thorpe award winner was the highest rated player in the 2011 class 4 stars. Kinda interesting that the first class Charlie had a year to put together had a Thorpe Award winner and two early-graduation first round draft choices.

It's tough to credit Strong with the kids who came in 2014 because they were all Mack commits except for 6. And of those 6, only Poona and Edwin Freeman are the big difference makers.

I think the staff will reevaluate its 2016 recruiting once they ink the 2015 class. We're doing fine on the defensive side of the ball, even if Jefferson doesn't come here. But we definitely need to up the ante for offensive linemen and skill positions like RB and WR. KSU plugs in OL JUCO guys to help with continuity, but that's more about scheming than pure skill. It's about time we get some "pure skill" guys in here. Everyone thought that J-Gray would fit that description, but he hasn't panned out.

Well Texas is full up on the OL, and has speedy running backs and receivers in 2014 and 2015 classes. The defense performed on the field in 2014, but I see the crying needs in this recruiting class as difference makers at DT, LB and corner.

How many of those first rounders could have gotten into Texas, and how many could have stayed in school?

Loserville is like University of Third Ward, Memphis, Cincinnati - academic requirement is still breathing. You have to keep your windows rolled up when you drive by their campus because they'll throw a degree in your car.

One thing to note is that Bridgewater was a three star recruit until he committed to Louisville after committing his rating changed to four star, this was said by Coach Strong when asked about recruiting player. Stars sell subscriptions to online websites, they do nothing more.
