Louisiana Tech: 2-0
Last Win: Louisiana Christian 88-52

La Tech stats vs Texas:
Scoring offense: 15 vs 26
Scoring defense: 12 vs 42
Turnover margin: 13 vs 3

Well that's a perfect example that stats don't win games. I thought the makeup of the La Tech team would be a bunch of fast guards racing up and down the court. But, no. They were just an average team that played a two nobodies to start their season.

Here's one thing I'm hesitant to say. But at the end of the game, I looked at Codio and I said, "Mmmmm, who does she remind me of?" What I meant was her type of defensive and then offensive play.

And as I was walking out of Moody, I thought, "Oh, Celeste Taylor".

The only reason I'm hesitant to say that there have been one or two players I've thought and said out loud as "the next Celeste Taylor".

At one point, I saw that La Tech had made 11 buckets and out of those 11, 5 of them were three pointers.

watched most of the game. Muhammed is everywhere, high energy high motor player, fun to watch. This team will actually have some depth when the injured players get back.

Anybody at the game get a gauge on how Booker was doing after she went out with the leg injury? Was she up and about after the game?

It looked like they iced it. She was in the stands afterward signing stuff. So all signs point to a mild injury.

In other good news, Moore looks to be available for the next game.

Jones, Moore, Booker, Gonzalez, Rory would be an awesome lineup, and then add in Muhammed and Gaston and this team could be pretty good.

I'm liking the FT% and the assist to made FG ratio. We're at our best offensively when we share the ball like that. Excited yet cautious for A-Mo to return. I'd imagine Vic feels the same way, and will most likely bring her along gradually. We need Dee back and I'm still waiting for Book to have her breakout game. UConn might be the perfect time... I can wait if that's the case.

Was looking at the schedule today. Three games in 3 days at the tournament. Even though none of the teams look to be real threats, depth will be helpful and it's good that Vic has been able to play a lot of folks. Will be interesting to see how much Amo plays.

Clearly Vic has not forgotten last season when the bench got very, very short. We had blowouts last year with starters staying on the court to the final minute. Harmon getting a break was unheard of unless she was injured. It’s been great seeing so many different players getting minutes.
