the kids around here (Eisenhower) like Oregon. they went up there for a 7-on-7.

If we tell him he has a good shot at starting next year, he'll come. (He would have a good shot at starting at SS.)

We need to tell Timmons the same thing if we don't want to lose him. He catches everything.

Why would he have a good shot at starting SS? You're underselling someone already on the field and getting it done.

He might see the field if he is great.

Here's ESPN's link:The Link

I think this is good news for Texas, but I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't overly impressed with Loston when I saw him play in person. Timmons yes, but not so much with Loston, IMO.

Here's the deal: you go to the team you want to play for and you show that you are the best on the field at that position. If you want someone to promise you something then go play for Les Miles. Right about now, he will probably tell you whatever you want to hear. If you want to play for the team that will be in the hunt for the MNC for at least the next 3 seasons, sign up, strap it on, and beat someone out of their job. How do you promise a guy he will start before he steps foot on your turf? LSU? Reality finally caught up with Lester. Oregon? Why? At best you will be playing for the 2nd best team in the 3rd or 4th best conference. Who's going to see you playing there (except for when you play USC)?

If he wants to compete for the job, come here...if you beat out the starter, he starts from day 1. Coach Musch will start the best players...period.

All signs point to l$u

It would be nice to get him, but we dont really need him. Earl Thomas is playing great and we got a 5 star gift wrapped as a 3 star in Gideon. We also have some great talent on the bench.

What I hope for are the highest quality players. If Loston is one of those, then I hope he wants the highest quality program/school to be a part of.

Whatever his choice, I'm glad Texas is impressing guys.

Pete Carroll also happens to be located in the entertainment capital of the free world. You just can't imagine how much press those guys get, especially with no NFL team. That's not a hard sell. And not much competition these days on the left coast.

For what it is worth, and consider the source, Ketch just reported on his radio show that he has committed to LSU.

Texas was never truly a player even after he went to Austin to check everything out. He never really wanted to be a Horn and that's ok. Mack always says he only wants guys that truly want to play for Texas.

Was Brent considering LSU? I wonder if that will push him to OU, hopefully not. Loston was always pretty adamant about his dislike for Texas.

Every year there is someone who is a can't miss prospect that we miss on. I say who cares, there is always next year.

And looking at our depth chart he would have been a luxury not an need.

Loston's good, but we're loaded in the defensive backfield. This is just idle curiosity, but did he ever indicate why he had such a bad attitude toward Texas?

We always seem to say this every time we miss out on a recruit. That being said, this is actually a genuine assessment given that no one here would have predicted the rapid development of our safeties.

I saw some Nike high school sports free mag the other day (can't recall the name of it), with him on the cover, and it listed his college as LSU, and that HAD to have been printed before Bowden got fired

I am sorry we lost him but I don't think we were really ever in the running for him. Even though we didn't get him our class is going to be awesome anyway and if we can get a couple of more good ones it will be awesome. Plus it is best to get ones that really want to come here.
