'LOS' on Jerseys?

Thanks Doc....Being from San Antonio, I am pretty sure I knew that.

So is it celebrate spanish day in the NBA or is there a real meaning behing the LOS on the jerseys

Not sure why the suns are wearing it, but the Spurs wore the Los Spurs jerseys the other night for "noche latina" night. Maybe they just like the look and are sticking with the jerseys?

Thanks. I thought you were kidding but my dad just told me the same thing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised...

Next week they should wear "THE" to celebrate caucasians....

It is the start of "Fiesta" week in SA. That is why they wore the "Los" on the jerseys.

...also, all illegals received free parking, tickets, hot dog, and a soda. The rest of us had to pay for it.

Come on, its a joke. Whats this world without chistes?

Actually the "los" refers to the founder of the Spurs whose birthday was last week, Carlos Drosos.

Jeez. Relax Chico. I was born and raised in SA. I have no problem with the "latino", "spanish" "hispanic" or whatever the PC term is for the mexican community nowadays.

My joke wasn't a knock on mexicans, as it was more a knock on the Racial issues in sports. I am sick of race being brought into sports these days. Can't we just enjoy the sport and the players with out it being about brown, white, black, etc.?

BTW, I did "think" before I posted. Maybe you should "think" before you react.

It has nothing to do with enjoying the game without bringing race into it...

This has nothing to do with the team, players, or NBA

It is just a franchise showing appreciation to a demographic that is a big chunk of their fan base.

The dumb "jokes" were not necessary, and the defensive replies arent either. Lets not turn this into a race war.

"San Antonio" is definitely Spanish.

"Texas" is an anglicized version of "Tejas," which is a Spanish-ized version of an Indian word, so we'll call that one a draw.

"Phoenix" is more English than Spanish, although really it's ancient Greek. Still, we'll give it to the Anglophones.

As for "Arizona" ...

"los" means a person getting offended over others not immediately recognizing what he/she pretends to have already known

alternate definiton: lack of sarcasm

That was from Webster's, but I think it's pretty official.
