Los Angeles suggestions for this week

Gonna be on my own for a couple days in LA starting Wednesday, then going to be w/ the g/f for the weekend. She's never been so we're gonna do the Hollywood, touristy stuff over the weekend.

A couple of questions...

On my own I'm thinking of checking out a beach, going to the Getty, and possibly even trying to go get tickets to the price is right and getting into the show (I heard of a good little Portuguese bakery up near studio city I'm gonna check out if I go that route also). I'm open for other suggestions for those 2 days though, as I'll have my rental car and be able to do whatever I want. (I'll be staying near USC w/ a relative those days).

For the weekend, on Friday we're thinking of checking out a beach (which? ventura?) for the afternoon then getting dinner somewhere w/ friends (suggestions?). Saturday we have planned out to do lots of hollywood-ish stuff. I'm looking for a suggestion of a good comedy club for that night (I've read about many but not sure which to pick).

We're staying downtown in a cool boutique hotel in Little Tokyo so any suggestions for that area would be helpful too.

Go to laugh factory. Always have a good time when I visit.

Check out Ketchup for drinks at the bar and order the french fry app.

Go to Mel's (I think thats the name) diner after drinking on Sunset. It's a pretty famous diner and always packed so shouldn't be too hard to find.

Go to Saddle Ranch (also on Sunset) Saturday or Sunday morning for brunch. $10 all you can drink mimosas and bloody marys and the food is large portion and pretty good.
