Here's a guy I wish we would take a look at. He's being recruited by TCU and Oklahoma State.

He plays for Burkburnett, a 3A school just north of Wichita Falls. He's a 300 lb DT who is an absolute bear. As a JR in high school he won the State weight lifting title with a combined lift of 1910 lbs.

He had 72 tackles this year as a DT with over half of them being for loss.

I dont know about him, but his dad is a huge OU fan. That doesnt mean he wouldnt come to UT though.

I know Lorenzo and his biggest problem is his height. At most he is 5'9" but probably a couple of inches shorter than that. As mentioned he is very strong and plays hard every play without ever giving up. From what I have heard SMU is also recruiting him as a guard on offense. His dad doesnt care where he goes as long as he is happy so that would not be a problem for him. He would be a great addition to any program both on and off the field. However due to his height I don't see him playing for one of the big boys in college football. Burkburnett also has another great player named Malachi Nief who would be better suited for a team like Texas. He played linebacker and running back for Burk this year. He has great speed and would be a good college safety. I think he is also being recruited by TCU and OSU.

TCU and Oklahoma State are big time programs. Sounds like he'll have some great opportunities. Texas can't sign them all and already have verbals from 3 DTs after taking 2 last year along with a DE or two that may, like Lamar Houston, grow into terrific, mobile DTs.

I've seen them both, and no thanks. They won't make it in Div 1.
