Looking for a used SUV

I'm looking at buying a used SUV - I've looked at Land Rovers, Tahoes and Grand Cherokees. Any ideas on what SUV would be the best deal (longevity, gas mileage, etc.)? Even though Land Rovers are gas-guzzlers, are they worth it if I will use it off-road?

I've got a '92 Cherokee with over 160,000 miles, and other than the usual stuff you would expect to wear out with that many miles I haven't had a whole lot of trouble. Other than tires, brakes, shocks, and a clutch, I've replaced/rebuilt the tranny, water pump, radiator. This is my second Jeep and I'm pretty happy with their durability. I plan on keeping this one to pull a 19' bass boat with for a long time.
