Looking for a point guard that can shoot?

Was really impressed with his shooting. I knew he was a good shooter, but I didn't know he was that good. Was most impressed by how he was obviously tired during the first final round, then just obliterated Bullock in the shoot-off.

By the way bierce, Thompson looked massive (funny his strength used to be the primary knock) and freaking ripped. He also seems to have regained some of his explosive ability. And he looked closer to 6'10" than 6'9" to me, but I may have been biased. He better be in Cory's ear all day, every day.

Love the Canadian/Findlay prep pipeline. Hope the latter continues with a commitment from Winston Sheppard in the future.

can you imagine the chemistry Bradley, Thompson and Joseph would inspire on this team? man. I'm salivating.

Busy week for Joseph and Thompson. McDonald's game Wednesday, then fly to Baltimore for a Thursday quarterfinal game for Findlay in the ESPN National High School Invitational.

BTW, for those who haven't heard, Findlay needs a new school to house them, as the Henderson International School has decided to drop its high school program.

Winston Shepard is overrated. He may develop into something, but right now he's not very fluid or quick. At this point I would be disappointed if we got a commitment from him. Now by the time he's a senior I might feel differently.

I managed to take in all of two minutes of the "game" tonight. Utterly unwatchable. High school all-star games are an abomination. Show your ability to stay on the offensive end when the other team has a 4-1 break. Well, why not? How else are we to have a quick in bounds pass for a 3-0 break in response? And finish the uncontested break with a bounce alley-oop that oh, darn, was too high and out of bounds.

That was the worst McDonald's game I've ever seen. Only 4-5 players looked like they really belonged, and nobody really stood out to me as a must-have player.

Sullinger looked okay, but he missed the opening layup of the game and has essentially no upside. Barnes is good, but he doesn't look like he has much of a skillset other than dunking in transition and shooting deep. His handle is pathetic. Selby was electric, he's probably the most talented player I saw. Still couldn't take over the game though, even with as many shots as he took (also had a bunch of TOs if I'm correct in remembering). My personal favorite was Tobias Harris. Smooth, versatile, good shooter, and under control. Also seemed to have a big time basketball IQ. My least favorite was Brandon Knight. He did his best O.J. Mayo "jack up every shot" impression and miss every one impression, but that last three was pretty clutch.

Wasn't impressed by Tristan's skillset, but he is already five times better than any of our bigs other than Johnson. TT does finish well in transition, which is a plus. Joseph struggled with his shot, just like everybody else in the game. He was the only player in the game interested in playing on-ball defense until the end of the game.

Interesting assessments based on an all-star game. I remember Aldridge looking average. That game just doesn't fit everyone.

Have seen Barnes multiple times this year. He's definitely the best player in the country McD's game or not. Plenty of handles and moves for a 6-8 guy. One and done. He would have been the best player on our team this past season.

Saw Sullinger a couple of times earlier this season. Dominant. He'd be the best player on our team as well. He and Tristan had quite a battle back in December.

Watched Joseph and Thompson last night on ESPN. They would both start for us. Thompson was far more athletic than he looked the night before. He and Joseph seem to have a better understanding of the pick and roll than the guys at UT did. In a real game situation Joseph is fast and when he shoots the stroke is pure.

Just a word of caution to everyone - Thompson is still very raw and will not be able to come in and be the savior for this team. He still has a lot of work to do. Some think he is just overrated in general and will never be good. I personally think he is 2-3 years away. But don't expect Thompson to come in and be an 18/10 guy and lead this team to a sweet 16 birth or anything.

The same goes for Joseph, but to a lesser extent. But I agree that our chances with Joseph are not stellar.

I don't know about Joseph, but Thompson certainly wouldn't have started at UT this year. He's not nearly as good as Gary yet, and he came off the bench. Cory would have been close, because he's another Barnes-type player like Bradley that simply relishes playing hard on the defensive end of the ball.

Neither Barnes nor Sullinger would have been better than James this year. I know it seems like the top players in high school are going to have a huge impact in college every year, but this is one of the weakest high school classes in years (since the Gerald Green/Monta Ellis/Lou Williams class probably). None of these guys are nearly as good as Damion, though some definitely will be eventually.
