Looking for a good email hosting company to migrate 10 email boxes to--- POP, <1GB storage per user (we'll pull emails off the server daily using Outlook or Thunderbird), web browser i/f for on the road use, and supports Blackberry.

Currently using godaddy- which has served us well over the last few years, and is cheap (when it works- it works great). However, we are now experiencing consistent email send errors with their smtp server (email client doesn't connect to outgoing server/ hangs/ then gives error. Can cancel during send- and immediately send again- and email goes through).

Error occurs on macs and pc's- and various email clients. Have gone the route of changing ports, settings, etc. and even having our accounts reset- with no luck. And, we have also read about other experiencing the same problems. Godaddy just can't seem to fix it. (problem may very well be on our end somehow, but we're experiencing it with just too many different setups/ locations- that makes me think it's on their end).

Problem is just annoying enough to look for another solution. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I've been happy with ours for a number of years now. Although it's never been painful for me, I should mention, they have changed hands a number of times. Started off as WT.net, then Nationwide.net, now are InReach.com. They have been solid throughout all name changes.

The company I work for uses Yahoo Small Business.

When we first switched over, we had lots of problems.

Their SPAM filter, while very good, has an annoying habit of dropping real emails into the junk box.

I wouldn't reccomend them, in case you were thinking about using them.

why not gmail via google's apps for your domain? it's free.... or if you want to remove ads, its only $50/user/year (and comes with more storage than you need). not sure about blackberry integration though. but you can definitely interface outlook/thunderbird/whatever to gmail via imap.

as an alternative, i suggest rackspace managed e-mail hosting.

Keep your GoDaddy email, forward emails to Gmail, use Gmail on your computers and the blackberry (setup internet email, not the gmail app).

You can also use Gmail via IMAP in Outlook/Thunderbird, but I don't think it's as good as just using Gmail itself.
