Longhorn Tattoo

Hey fellas not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. I have been wanting to get a Longhorn tattoo for a long time. The problem is that I don't want just like the usual Longhorn symbol. Is there anything you can think of that would be cool/abstract/different? Thanks in advance!

there is the one longhorn logo that looks more realisitc, like it has the fur or what not. I've thought about that myself

Where does one get a longhorn branding iron for skin?

A drunken night of youthful stupidity once led to my friend being branded with an iron designed for searing a longhorn into steaks. It didn't turn out well, but it makes for a good story occasionally.

Can you buy a longhorn iron or do any tattoo shops have one?

I got a Longhorn tatoo on my left shoulder when I was 17 (30 now), & it looks horrible! The "artist" knew I was young & dumb, & apparently he didn't give much of a **** about his craft. This was in FW & I had to bring in my own stencil, but that obviously shouldn't be a problem in Austin. We all call mine "Drunken Bevo".

first longhorn tat i got was inbetween my shoulders. it wasn't large and the dude sucked. it was crooked and not the real thing.

so i traced the longhorn sticker on my back window about 4 years later and had that put over it.

now my longhorn tat is straight, the real design and it cured my AIDs.

I saw a lot of guys get tattoos in college and the army but never saw the allure myself. I would rather get several t-shirts and then pick what I want to wear each day.

Ive got a black longhorn symbol on my left arm...dont regret it one bit...im actually about to add two other longhorn related tattoos near it...

I was running at Memorial Park in Houston a few weeks ago and saw this guy with a huge Bevo tat across his back, between the shoulder blades. It was quite horrible and stupid.

Even with smaller "tasteful" tattoos, I never understood the appeal of it. But it's your skin, ink it up if it makes you happy.

I have one, and still love it.

The Horns tats on others Ive seen, where they tried to do something different, something "creative," usually look dumb in an "what were you trying to do there" kind of way. More like something to do with the rodeo. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Its just not the point.

If you are in Austin, there's an iron gate that someone has on their driveway that has an abstract longhorn design in it. It's abstract enough to not be tacky (it's actually a really nice house) but you can definitely tell it's a longhorn. I think it would make a cool tattoo, if you could get the same look with ink as you can with the iron (I have no idea). If you're interested, I can double check the address, it's in the Enfield area just west of Mopac. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the person that lives there is on hornfans...

My brother has an allsome Longhorn tat that is kind of a tribal design that he had it designed specifically for him, but it might give you an idea. He's on here occasionally and I'll tell him to PM you.

Also, Milkman...that T-Shirt is 7 kinds of Win...it should be framed and placed over your mantle...the only thing that might improve it was if the Tiger was shooting at a Num-chuck wielding Wolf!!!

From a person with 2 tattoos...

A tattoo = a permanent reminder of a temporary thought... Don't do it.

From my wife with seven. She agrees with you...

Like a previous poster said, "ink up" if you want -
but just know that most people who think that their tattoos are cool, they're not.

From what I've seen, about 95% of tats around are hideous. Every now and then I'll see a cool and unique one, but not often. But I also understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder - so I'm not hate'n. So I would say not to rush out and get one. Give it some thought.
i've actually been looking for a nice "lone wolf" but can't find one that looks decent.

And don't get me started on guys who wear tank tops in the dead of winter just so everyone can see the tat - not cool.

The only tattoo that I've ever seen that I really liked was this Calvin and Hobbes one that a former reporter at the Temple Daily Telegram had.

However, I have made a vow that I will get a Longhorn tattoo when the Horns win the national championship ...

... in BASKETBALL!

If Texanne has a vow to get a longhorn tattoo, then I will too. I hereby vow to get a longhorn tattoo, when UT wins the national championship in meat judging.

Does anyone here sit in section 31? There is a guy a few rows in front of me (maybe row 55) that has got have 20 longhorn tats on his body...neck, back of hand, calves, biceps...really anywhere you can think of as well as an "OU Sucks" on his right bicep and major applewhite's sig tatooed on the left bicep. Dude is either super hard-core or super-crazy.

I'm sure at some point over the past 10+ seasons I've snapped a pic of him. If I can find it, I will post it and you will see a large variety to choose from.

Yes, I sit in Section 31, on row 57, I think. You don't have permission to photograph all my tattoos. Or it could be another fan in in Section 31 you are thinking of.

I've got a tattoo of Calvin urinating on a Ford logo on my right thigh, Calvin urinating on a Chevy logo on my left thigh.
